Professor Chun-Pin Lin and his team of researchers at National Taiwan University’s School of Dentistry have discovered a treatment that could ultimately offer hope for all those who suffer from sensitive teeth. Their product uses calcium carbonate and silica to seal a tooth’s dentine tubes exposed by worn enamel or receding gums. Plans are also underway to use this material for minor dental repairs like cavities and chipped teeth. Unfortunately, this remedy is not available for home use at this time.
If you currently experience tooth sensitivity—especially when brushing or when consuming hot/cold foods and beverages—schedule a dental check-up so we can rule out any underlying problems and help you find an at-home solution for sensitive teeth.
