Staying hydrated is an important part of being healthy and many people chose to drink bottled water instead of fluoridated tap water. Manufacturers of bottled water often indicate their products are “clean” or “pure,” but few contain sufficient amounts of fluoride, which is important for preventing tooth decay and promoting oral health. Check the label on the bottled water you drink if you want to know if it contains fluoride.
If you use a home water filter and bottle your own water, you may also be removing the fluoride from your tap water. Visit the ADA website for a list of water filters that don’t remove fluoride.
