Hughes & Hughes Family Dentistry would like to thank Chester County Life magazine for their thoughtful article on our practice in their July/August issue. The article focuses on both the neighborly feel and technologically-advanced aspects of our practice. On the one hand, Dr. Hughes started this practice nearly 40 years ago with the goal of providing patient-focused, comprehensive care to the people in his community and fostering a family-friendly atmosphere. On the other, we pride ourselves on our commitment to providing the most advanced dental experience possible.
As the article mentions, we have three hygienist rooms, six dental operatories, a doctor’s lab and a training center. In addition, our “impressive” 3D scan quarters are state of the art and enable us to construct 3D images of the teeth, mouth and jaw. Our focus has always been and always will be on providing the best patient-centered care possible, both to the people who have been visiting our Glenmoore address since they were kids themselves and to a new generation of parents and children who want to join our extended family.
The article mentions Dr. L. D. Pankey, Sr. and his teachings. Dr. Pankey dedicated himself to helping dentists grasp the importance of developing close, trusting patient relationships. At Hughes & Hughes Family Dentistry, we stress the importance of open communication so we know that at any given moment a patient not only knows exactly what we are doing but also why we are doing it. Dr. Hughes, in the article, describes it.
“Everybody has his/her own bag of stuff. We have to be able to understand the bag’s contents. Maybe somebody had a bad dental experience. Perhaps there are personal problems or concerns, work issues, or other stressful circumstances. So, we spend the first patient visit learning all about the person. Then, we are able to treat the whole patient.”
